It is a time for another deviant journal update.

It has been as it has been for many years now, nor good or bad just a boring neutral I suppose, but the good thing is I'm still into drawing and as I write this, I'm going to start a new "project" as I like to call them not that they are anything fancy

Well that one ended up as a lineart was not quite happy how the face came up and my obsession with anime eyes and thinner limbs often cause trouble with anatomy and believablity. Doodling and sketching real life models would certainly help me to improve in that area, but I dont know. I might start doing lineart and coloring them later or just not color every single one.

So what have I been drawing these past two weeks, quite a lot actually after my last blog post I started drawing Lafiel from Crest/banner of Stars (Using english name for sake of readability), I had huge expectations, great idea, screencap refence and all. Idea was to draw Jinto and Lafiel together in bed Lafiel blushing opposed to her cool appereance much like in the series many times. Lafiel was a success couple small mistakes I managed to find before declaring it submit ready, but Jinto male counterpart turned out bizzarre jelly monster resembling more of a snake than a man from neck and below, Head and expression was fine though! Emergency crop was necessery and we ended up with solo Lafiel ^^'. Plain simple coloring suited the picture so I decided to leave it at that.

Next project its time to make something cool a request from certain anon non deviant user, so I come up with an idea of a woman with huge swords. I thought myself, its time learn how to draw (simple) muscles so I put emphasis on muscle on arms and body, right arm turned out to be a impossible challenge and I gave up in the end and left it be, I was so frustrated and tired at that point so decided to start coloring. Simple coloring again quite happy with result in the end only thing I regretted was the arm, but I was too anxious to move on.

I kinda wanted to make something similar to my very first loli drawing, but not quite the same so I tried to work on swimsuit loli with cute happy pose. Two big things I wanted to do was improve my linework and add a bit more complex position for fingers, well latter failed hardcore, but not as bad as mouth which seemed closer to a blackhole than this . Lineart came out nicely this was probably last one I do with plain brush, yes I'm nuts for not using layer for lineart and doing the lineart last. I think it came out decent in the end despite looking like balloon

Experimento taimu once again I go crazy changing just about every mechanic I have yet to use and setting myself a timelimit of 1 hour to get something colored and lined. Since I like lolis I decided to make another one and I find it more forgiving for anatomy to draw a loli as well. Up to this point I have done the lines manually with brush, this time however I decided to use pen tool to finish lineart for sketch. Little squidish anatomy was expected since I was trying to work fast and was more of trying to test out new mechanics than actually make something. The axe had one flaw I should have noticed and the right leg seems a bit off place but small things for me since I'm still learning as long as I dont do the same mistakes again and again. Some other mistakes too, but they were expected, it took about 2 hours a bit less in the end since I wanted to publish it.

I'm not so good at designing characters, so I decided to draw one that already exists, Scheris from s-Cry-ed. It has been many years since I watched the show so I used a screencap for reference for eyes hair and the pin on her head. Since she is in the military (special squad Holy I think) I thought the salute would work on her, used quite a bit time on sketching had hard time with hands (again!). I dare say this is my best work so far, left hand lacking palm and right hand being a bit blade-ish and expression could had used a bit more work, but what can I say it still looks good to me lol!

So far my work have been very plain and lack detail which is alright for me, but I wanted to do something partly more detailed this time and what would be more fitting than Chise from Saishu heiki Kanojo (Saikano). After deciding pose I started sketching, I had difficulty with the chest area and was not quite sure how the jaw would look normal so I decided to make it lean to her hand. Now the detailed part of her would be the gun, it is nothing like in the series so you are not getting spoiled reading this, decided to make it part of her short of like cybernetics into the actual flesh, the picture gives impression that it would hurt and I agree, but it was not the intention, it was merely way to express that it is part of her. The gun could had used some shading, and the hair looked a bit too pointy. The art used in Saikano is actually quite different from most animes so my picture does not do justice to tragedy and cuteness combined used in series I recommend for every fan of romance / tragedy / off mainstream relatioship animes.

Last picture I'm going to talk about in this jounal update is the quick lineart I made inbetween writing this journal post. I intentionalily did hard pose for bust squeeze, hard twisting arms and short of crawling? position decided to leave it at that reasons I mentioned above.
